Walmart Family Mobile Lifeline Plans
Another confusing aspect of their site is the states of operation. On one page they discuss saving an additional $10 every month if you qualify for SafeLink Lifeline. Howver, they mention: "This service is provided by TracFone Wireles Inc. Currently not available in Alaska, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, Virgin Islands, and Wyoming." But, on another part of their site, they state they offer services in the following states which include the above "currently not available" states: ![]() I find that to be confusing. I guess the only way to know if they offer service in your area is to enter your zip code and see what happens. Walmart Family Mobile Lifeline PlansPutting all of the confusion aside, below is a listing of the Lifeline plans Walmart Family Mobile offers. Keep in mind, plans may vary by state. I tested out a couple of states and the plans were identical, but I did not test all 50 states and DC. By applying the $10 Lifeline discount, plans are as follows: $14.88 per month (retails at $24.88)
$19.99 per month (retails for $29.88)
$29.88 per month (retails for $39.99)
$39.99 per month (retails for $49.99)
While the Walmart family assist program does not provide free government phones, it does allow you to purchase phones at a discount. Or, you can bring your own phone and purchase the bring your own phone Sim kit. The cost of the kid is about $.99. Qualifying for Walmart Family Assist DiscountsTo qualify for this program, he must be enrolled in Lifeline. To enroll in Lifeline, you must satisfy one of the following criteria:

Along with your application, you’ll need to provide proof of eligibility such as an Approval or Benefits Letter from the participating program. If you qualify based on income, examples of proof are federal or state tax returns, W2s, or several months of pay stubs. They must be current. In addition to proof of eligibility, you’ll need to provide proof of identity and proof of life. Unfortunately, too many people have tried to game the system, so you have to prove that you are living and breathing.
