Arizona: Listing of Free Govt Phone Providers
If you live in the state of Arizona and participate in the Federal Lifeline program, you have the opportunity to receive a free government cell phone along with free service (talk/text and data). Or, if you prefer, through the Lifeline program you could opt for discounts on your home landline service (choose one only).
Now, with the creation of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which replaced the EBB program, eligible residents have the option of receiving a free or discounted device such as a tablet, computer, or laptop. With the device comes unlimited internet service.
Because the plans vary from company to company, it is recommended that you review and compare several companies and plans before signing up for one. Below is a listing of phone service providers that participate in the Lifeline and/or ACP programs and services in the state of Arizona:
This list may not contain all of the phone companies in Arizona that participate in the Lifeline free and discounted phone service, but it is a good start. As we become aware of more companies, we will add them (or delete the ones no longer in service).
Interesting Fact: As of April 2023, out of the over 809,000 Arizona households eligible to receive Lifeline/ACP phone discount benefits, only 22% of them actually participate in the programs. This information can be found on the Universal Service Administrative Co. site.
