Arkansas: Listing of Free Govt Phone Providers

Arkansas residents who are having a difficult time paying their phone bills may qualify for the Federal Lifeline and Affordable Connectivity Programs (ACP).

Arkansas

Lifeline and ACP are federal programs administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The purpose is to provide internet and cell phone service for low-income individuals and families. The assistance may come in the form of a free cell phone or tablet with free airtime/texting and data, or you may opt for a discounted landline service.

While most phone companies participate in the landline monthly phone discount (just call your phone company and ask), not all companies offer free phones. Below is a listing of phone providers offering free government devices and/or free wireless service in the state of Arkansas:

This list is by no means an exhaustive list of all the free and discounted Lifeline phone providers in the state of Arkansas, but it is a start. The Lifeline program is a moving target and constantly changing an improving. As more providers become available, this list will be updated.

FactoidInteresting Fact: As of April 2023, out of the over 403,000 Arizona households eligible to receive Lifeline/ACP phone discount benefits, only 20% of them actually participate in the programs. This information can be found on the Universal Service Administrative Co. site.

If you know of anyone that could benefit from the Lifeline and ACP programs, please share this with them.
