Colorado: Listing of Free Govt Phone Providers

Colorado residents who are having a difficult time paying their phone bills may qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline programs.

Colorado Lifeline and ACP are Federal programs administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The purpose is to provide telephone service for low-income individuals and families. The phone assistance may come in the form of a free cell phone with free airtime/texting and data, or in discounted landline service.

While most phone companies participate in the landline monthly phone discount (just call your phone company and ask), not all companies offer free phones. Below is a listing of phone providers offering free government phones in the state of Colorado:

The above list may not include all companies providing free and discounted phone service in Colorado, but it's a start. As we become aware of additional companies, they'll be added to the list. Similarly, if the companies no longer operate in the state, we'll delete them.

ColoradonFactsColorado Lifeline Fact: Only 14% of the Colorado households eligible to receive Lifeline benefits are actually participating in the program. As of April 2023, according to the USAC, of the over 550,000 eligible households, only about 70,000 are enrolled.

If you know of anyone who might be eligible and can benefit from this information, please share this with them.
