Georgia: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers
Low-income residents in the state of Georgia have the opportunity to receive either a free cell phone (with free airtime/texting and data) or a discount on their home landline. This service is made possible through the federal Lifeline program.
While most Georgia phone companies participate in the Lifeline program and can offer monthly discounts on landlines, only a few select companies offer free phones with the associated voice/text and data.
Below is a listing of wireless phone providers offering free government phones in the state of Georgia:

This list may not contain all of the phone companies in Georgia that participate in the Lifeline free and discounted phone service, but it is a good start. As we become aware of more companies, we will add them (or delete the ones no longer in service).
Discounted Phone Line Phase Out
FYI: According to the Federal Communications Commission, the monthly Lifeline landline phone discounts are being phased out. By December 1, 2021 discounted phone (voice) service will no longer be available. The $9.25 monthly discount for broadband (internet) will remain constant, but the voice discount is being phased out is as follows:
The rationale is probably because more and more people are opting to use cellular service instead of landlines. Unfortunately, those who prefer landlines will either be forced to get a free cell phone or foot the entire monthly landline cost themselves.
