Low-income residents in the state of Michitan have the opportunity to receive either a free or deeply discounted device (with free airtime/texting and data) or a discount on their home landline. MichiganThese services are made possible thanks to the Federal Lifeline and Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

While many Michigan phone service providers participate in the Lifeline and ACP programs, you'll soon find that the offers differ from company to company. When researching service providers, make sure to spend time comparing the plans to ensure you select the best plan for your needs.

Below is a listing of phone service providers offering free or discounted government phones and services in the state of Michigan:

This list may not contain all of the phone companies in Michigan that participate in the Lifeline free and discounted phone service, but it is a good start. As we become aware of more companies, we will add them (or delete the ones no longer in service).

For Your InformationMichigan Lifeline Information: Did you know that in the state of Michigan, there are 1,237,814 households eligiblie to receive free smartphones and free service and only 23% of the households have enrolled in the program? According to the USAC, as of April 2023, only 287,017 have enrolled. That means 77% of the eligible households are still struggling to pay for wireless or internet services and they don't have to.
