Mississippi: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers

If you live in the state of Mississippi and participate in the Federal Lifeline program, you have the opportunity to receive a free government cell phone along with free service (talk/text and data).Mississippi Or, if you prefer, through the Lifeline program you could opt for discounts on your home landline service (choose one only).

Now, with the creation of the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which replaced the EBB program, eligible residents have the option of receiving a free or discounted device such as a tablet, computer, or laptop. With the device comes unlimited internet service.

Because the plans vary from company to company, it is recommended that you review and compare several companies and plans before signing up for one. Below is a listing of phone service providers that participate in the Lifeline and/or ACP programs and services in the state of Mississippi:

The above list may not include all phone companies providing free and discounted lifeline phone service in Mississippi. As we become aware of additional companies, they'll be added to the list. Similarly, if the companies no longer operate in the state, we'll delete them.

FactMississippi Lifeline Fact: According to the Universal Service Administrative Company, as of April 2023, only 26% of Lifeline-eligible households have enrolled in the program. That means 74% of low-income Mississippi households struggle to pay for wireless and internet services when they don't have to.
