Nebraska: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers

Thanks to the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline programs, qualified low-income Nebraska residents can get help with their phone bills. There are a few options:

  • Receive a free government phone with free talk/text and data
  • Receive a mobile device at a deep discount with free or discounted service

While most phone service providers can offer the discounted landline option (call your current landline company and ask), only a few companies offer free phones. Below is a listing of the phone companies servicing Nebraska that offer free phones:

Factoid Nebraska Factoid: According to the Universal Service Administrative Company, of the 184,254 Nebraska households eligible to enjoy the benefit of free or discounted phone/internet service as afforded by the Lifeline program, only 3% have actually enrolled. That means that 97% of the eligible population paying for internet/wireless services when they don't have to.
