Oregon: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers

Thanks to the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline programs, qualified low-income Oregon residents can get help with their phone bills. There are a few options:

  • Receive a monthly discount on a landline phone
  • Receive a free government phone with free talk/text and data
  • Receive a mobile device at a deep discount with free or discounted service

While most phone service providers can offer the discounted landline option (call your current landline company and ask), only a few companies offer free phones. Below is a listing of the phone companies servicing Oregon that offer free phones:

This list is by no means an exhaustive list of all the free and discounted Lifeline phone providers in the state of Oregon, but it is a start. The Lifeline program is a moving target and constantly changing and improving. As more providers become available, this list will be updated.

Oregon Lifeline InfoOregon Lifeline Info: Only 3% of eligible low-income Oregon residents have signed up to receive Lifeline benefits. According to the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), as of April 2023, of the over 544,000 eligible households just over 17,800 households enrolled. That means 97% of the qualified households are paying for internet services that they don't have to.
